The area is part of the Serengeti ecosystem in the north and northwest of the Ndutu region, where December to April is the best time to see the calving of wildebeest and zebras. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken and non-flooded caldera in the world. The main attraction of Ngorongoro is the crater, which formed after the large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself, and the caldera is the best place to see many antelopes very close and the Big 5 animals, but depending on the season.
